“ We worked with the event staff to put together a dinner for 24 people to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. What a celebration it was!! The views are absolutely amazing. If the photos are at all suspect, you really do have unobstructed views of Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge down to the Freedom Tower (World Trade Center), from the edge of the Hudson River. You can get a good meal at other places, but not this view. Every one of our guests commented on the unique experience. Food wise, we made a number of customizations to the event packages and got a menu that was just right to our group. We had a series of passed appetizers which were all tasty bites. I personally thought the tuna poke and the cured salmon were highlights. For dinner, risotto primavera, wedge salad, filet mignon and sea bass were all absolutely delicious. I personally did not have the molten chocolate cake, but many in our party were scraping the plate for the last bits. Because of the group size, we had a private room and service staff. The staff was attentive and helped keep our evening moving along. The lead checked in with me effectively and NOT obtrusively. We definitely felt well-cared for. I also need to acknowledge the planning staff that helped us get everything into place for our event to remember. ”

“ I went to Charthouse to celebrate my birthday. Although I went primarily for the views and atmosphere, the food was surprisingly good (I had low expectations after seeing these reviews...) FOOD -- 4.3/5 MUST ORDER: the kimchi calamari! The portion is a huge shareable platter and the sauce they batter this in is unique and works great with the calamari. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and the middle (coconut milk sauce?) is so good, we asked for another cup of it! BE AWARE the prime rib is kind of fatty... I ate a whole chunk of fat in one bite and had to spit it out. I got the NY strip and the steak was seasoned well (I prefer saltier foods). 3 potato mash was also really good. I heard their drinks are also sweeter so I got the strawberry lemon drop with a double shot and it was definitely pretty strong. EXPERIENCE -- 5/5 If you're looking to book a window table, the hostess let me know over the phone that they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You might have to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour but there is a bar area where most patrons wait at. Our server was super sweet and attentive. If you tell them you're there for a birthday celebration, they print out a little slogan on your menu ahead of time! ”

“ This restaurant has been on my "to try" list for a longtime and I finally was able to check them out for a friend's birthday. I was the first to arrive in an attempt to put up a few decorations at our table. However, our table wasn't ready yet but when it was we were able to distract the bday girl and set our table. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Everyone was nicely dressed and matched the sophistication of the restaurant. OMG, the water views from the table was enlightening. There were two different wedding celebrations on the upper floors. Most of our group ordered seafood dishes and I ordered the steak since I am not a seafood fan. Most us ordered from the chart your course which consisted of your choice of a soup or salad, entrée and a dessert. Our table also ordered the Mediterranean Hummus Tasting that included avocado, roasted red pepper, Kalamata grilled pita and taro chips. I'm not a big hummus fan but the roasted red pepper one was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Caesar salad for an appetizer. My steak with mash potatoes and asparagus was delicious. For dessert I tore up that mini lava cake. LOL Overall, as other reviewers pointed out the staff were top notch with customer service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and very professional. The bathroom was clean and had an attendant tidying up. This is definitely a spot I would return to for any occasion. ”
